RECOGNITION
A. The Board hereby recognizes the Association as the exclusive and sole bargaining representative for all certified educator personnel and registered nurses whether under contract, on leave, or on a per diem basis, including coordinators, counselors, media specialists, reading consultants, social workers, school psychologists, Title I educators, alternative program educators, student/parent advocates, speech and language therapist/pathologists, instructional specialists, excluding superintendent, assistant superintendents, principals, assistant principals, directors, supervisors, other positions which are supervisory, and day to day substitutes within the meaning of the Public Employment Relations Act. The Board will not recognize or negotiate with any educators’ organization other than the Association for the duration of this Agreement, unless required by law to do otherwise.
B. The term, “Educator” when used hereinafter in this Agreement, shall refer to all employees represented by the Association in the bargaining unit as above defined. The term “Board” and/or “Employer,” when used herein shall refer to the Board of Education, Superintendent and other Central Office Administrators, Principals, Assistant Principals and all other supervisory personnel within the meaning of Act 379.
